Managing Director
Mark has been at Somer Joinery since 1998. Although a time served Wood Machinist he will most likely be your first point of contact at Somer Joinery. Always happy to help and advise on design aspects and technical info for your requirements.
Kevin Horler
Bench Joiner
Kevin aka Phil has been with us for almost 6 years although been in the trade much longer. Kevin has an attention to detail and can turn his hand to any project.
Darren Phillips
Bench Joiner
Darren joined us in 2011. His work is always turned out to the highest quality and a valued member of the team. Darren loves going Ghost hunting in his spare time! WWHOOOOO!!
James Hadley
Apprentice
James joined us last year as an apprentice and has come on leaps and bounds. He generally helps out the other staff members as well as his own jobs. James loves Cycles and has more of them than most have hot meals in a week.
David Mines
Bench Joiner
Dave is our longest serving member of staff of over 24 Years. Daves knowledge is endless when it comes to the technical side of Joinery. Dave loves nothing more than to get stuck into some Green oak Framing and curved work. Dave can survive on 2 hours sleep a night and can normally be found in the factory at 4:30am.
Phil Horler
Wood Machinist
Phil aka Kev is our resident Power House. He can usually be found outside in the depths of winter in the rain, manhandling huge planks of wood for machining, Always willing to help in major panic situations like running a piece of skirting for a customers.
Mark Collins
Head Machinist
Mark aka Turtle strives for perfection in his machining and most of the work we produce will have gone through his hands in the machining process. Mark recently has grown a beard and if you look quickly it appears that his head is on upside down!
Andrew Grantham
Bench Joiner
Andrew is our Porch Canopy Expert and generally organises the porch’s we supply to large builders nationwide. Andrews favourite pastime is asking for a payrise!……..The battle continues.
Ben Sheppard
Apprentice
Ben has come from a family of joiners and spent most weekends as a child helping out by his Grandfather in his own workshop. He is like a duck to water where Joinery is concerned.
